2009 sees the revival of big hair – think Diana Vickers, Amy Winehouse, Beyoncé - Prom hair is back! As usual, this celebrity trend has filtered down to those on the cutting edge of trends, the Drummies. These girls’ thirst for the latest do’s have caused an upsurge in the sales of hairspray (not since the 80’s perm has hairspray been in such hot demand), which is excellent news for one our clients, L’Oreal.
L’Oreal are the leaders in the hairspray market and are cashing in on the new trend. The bigger the better according to L’Oreal and Garnier if this press ad is anything to go by. Let’s just hope Beyoncé hasn’t seen the latest hair uber trend…
This is all particularly pertinent as L’Oreal Paris celebrates 100 years of bringing brighter lips, longer lashes, smoother skin and shinier hair to women (and men) around the world. During this time L’Oreal Paris has driven innovation in the beauty category, and made us all look and feel a bit prettier. The ‘Because You’re Worth it’ campaign (developed by McCann Erickson) has been around since 1973, making it one of the longest running campaigns in ad history.
