Autoglass® are Ireland’s leading vehicle glass repair and replacement company and over the years we have all become familiar with the Autoglass® adverts on the radio. While these were effective at driving business and building personality for the brand through the use of their own technicians for the voiceovers- affectionately becoming known as “The Autoglass® Man” - the client was looking for a step change in communication effectiveness.
One of their unique services is the ability to repair chips in windscreens simply and without hassle. While this had been communicated through radio it was felt that TV would demonstrate the services much more effectively, and therefore generate a better response. To this end the client combined some international footage with some locally produced material to make a direct response advert which showed how chips were easily repaired. As usual this featured one of their own technicians.
We then ran a two week burst from the end of August at very heavy weights. The results have been very positive, the campaign quickly outperformed any previous communications activity.
Proof that their move to television has not gone unnoticed can also be judged by the fact that there has already been a skit done on the advert by the 98FM Morning Crew.
