Shay joined McCanns back in 1996 and was appointed Creative Director in 2000. He has won countless awards over the years on a whole range of clients including The National Lottery, Bank of Ireland, HB, MasterCard and more recently Heineken and Sprite. He firmly believes in the power of a creative thought and loves nothing more than to see a lovely idea survive and flourish all on its own in that great big bad world out there. He is as passionate about the work today as he was over twenty years ago when he got his first little press ad published. A little beauty it was too.

Jonny graduated so long ago he can’t really remember it. Since then he’s worked as a copywriter in London, Paris and now Ireland. In 2007 he started work at CawleyNea/TBWA where he produced work for Adidas, Paddy Power, McDonald’s, The Irish Times, Jameson and O2. He was then hired by Irish International to work on Guinness, Carlsberg and Centra among others. But he always hoped to return to McCann’s (where he freelanced for a month when he first came to Ireland). That finally happened on January 4th this year. He won a Cannes Silver Lion for his work on Umbro which can also be seen in the 1998 D&AD Annual, but he prefers not to talk about it sober. Fortunately, he has a few other awards to bang on about, including 3 ICADs, an Irish Radio Award and a Kinsale Shark. He is currently working on 3, Heineken, SuperValu and Coca-Cola and really should get back to it.
